Giffard’s premium range of liqueurs are a notable step up in texture and flavour from the ‘classic’ range. This one’s made from a slow maceration of (mostly) Brazilian bananas, enhanced with a splash of Cognac.
Tasting note: Brilliant gold. A little confected in the initial pass, drying slightly after air contact, accenting dried banana and fresh banana cake. Viscous with mouthcoating flavours of banana fritter / fruit yogurt with ripe banana through the finish.
Gold Medal 95 points at the International Review of Spirits Competition 2007 organized by the Beverage Testing Institute (USA).
