Herencia Del Plata Anejo
Herencia Del Plata Anejo is from the Rio del Plata distillery, founded in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1943. Now in its 4th generation of family ownership, it produces 6 million bottles of tequila and tequila-based products, to 52 countries worldwide.
Herencia tequilas are 100% blue agave products and are all premium quality – but without the over-inflated costs of the big brands. The products sell themselves and don’t have the need for massive marketing and advertising budgets, ergo, consumers don’t have to pay for this with excessive pricing.
Amber color with gold and orange hues and a great body. Nose: The first impression recalls rose petals in harmony with herbal and spice tones, delicate preserved and dried fruit such as walnut with a tobacco finish. Aromas from the cask are vanilla, caramel, and maple, giving it an elegant style. Comments: It combines with complex dishes and desserts with coffee or maple flavours.
This is a pretty good sipping tequila if sipping tequila is your thing. It can work in a cocktail too, but we think that would be a waste.
Straight from The Mayor
Tequila rarely features on my shopping list. Normally, the drinkable ones are not worth the money and the cheap ones make me want to puke. We were cynical when we first got our hands on Herencia Del Plata Anejo and assumed it would be house pour in a different bottle. We were happy to be surprised by this being of premium quality.
A bottle that can sit against Patron, but much cheaper? It sure is.
