The Kraken Black Spiced Rum
Kraken Rum originates from Trinidad and Tobago and was first introduced to the world in 2010. They specialize in making black spiced rum made from sweet molasses. Their rum is combined with several different spices like cinnamon, ginger, clove, and more, which is then left to age for a few years in oak barrels. With a 47% alcohol by volume, Kraken is definitely a very strong and very delicious rum for the seasoned rum drinker.
The brand is named after the mythological creature known as the Kraken, a massive sea monster that was said to attack ships as they travelled between the Caribbean islands. The brand’s name and iconography are all an acknowledgement of the rum’s roots in the Caribbean, along with the many spices that come from the region to make the rum what it’s known for today. The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavours.
