Pernod is the brand name of a type of liqueur called a pastis, a liquorice and anise flavoured apertif that has been common in France for centuries. A key ingredient in many cocktails, this drink is also the foundation to the worlds second largest drinks company, Pernod-Ricard.

Most famous for the “Pernod Effect” – the effect of the liquor going milky white in cloudy when you add ice or water.
